Following his great success with “North by Northwest,” director Alfred Hitchcock makes a daring choice for his next project: an adaptation of Robert Bloch’s novel “Psycho.” When the studio refuses to back the picture, Hitchcock decides to pay for it himself in exchange for a percentage of the profits. His wife, Alma Reville, has serious reservations about the film but supports him nonetheless. Still, the production strains the couple’s marriage.
Dünya sinema tarihine adını ölümsüz harflerle kazımış olan ustaların ustası sinemacı Alfred Hitchcock’un sıradışı filmi Sapık (Psycho)’ın çekim sürecinde geçen film Hitchcock ve eşi Alma’nın aşklarına odaklanıyor. Filmde ustayı yine bir başka usta Anthony Hopkins canlandırırken karısı Alma rolünü ise Helen Mirren üstleniyor. Hitchcock’un çığır açan filmi PSYCHO’nun yapım sürecinde geçiyor. Projenin yönetmen koltuğunda Sacha Gervasi otururken, senaryo ise John McLaughlin’e ait. Filme kaynaklık eden kitap ise Stephen Rebelloizamlı “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho” adlı eser. Filmde ayrıca Scarlett Johansson, Janet Leigh, James D’Arcy, Anthony Perkins, Jessica Biel, Vera Miles, Michael Stuhlbarg ve Toni Collette gibi pek çok yıldız isim yer alıyor.
